3 biometrics
= biometryприкладная область знаний, занимающаяся разработкой совокупности способов автоматической верификации и идентификации пользователя (для защиты от несанкционированного доступа) при входе в компьютерную систему по биологическим свойствам (признакам) тела человека. Идентификационными биологическими признаками являются его индивидуальные особенности, называемые биометрическими характеристиками. Биометрическая идентификация и аутентификация заключается в считывании одного или нескольких биометрических признаков пользователя и их сравнении с предварительно полученными шаблонами. Осуществляется по отпечаткам пальцев (fingerprints), сетчатке или радужной оболочке глаз (iris recognition), геометрии руки (hand geometry), подписи (signature verification), внешнему виду (face recognition) или голосу (voice verification), термограмме лица (схеме кровеносных сосудов), фрагменту генетического кода (genetic code) и т. д. либо по поведению (behavioral characteristics), например форме и способу выполнения подписи.
